Francois Coetzee is a South African filmmaker whose work explores themes of silence, memory, masculinity, and emotional inheritance.

Based in Johannesburg, he has written and directed a range of projects from festival-selected short films (Tacet, Diesis) to independent features (Finale, The Owner) and television dramas (Spoorloos, Breekpunt). Influenced by auteurs like Kieslowski, Gregg Araki and Mike Figgis, his work is lyrical and deeply introspective. Also a trained actor, pianist, and choral singer, Francois brings a performer's sensitivity and a deep love of rhythm and image to every project.

He currently has a number of feature and television projects in active development.
